Evolution is a process of growth, development, and change.
Things shift — sometimes for better, sometimes for worse and how we deal with change is highly individual. Each of us finds our own way to cope .
This past year has challenged all of us. We have gone through processes on a personal, family, and community level. We discovered new things about ourselves, about our loved ones, and about the communities we live in. From this new reality, we learned something important: we are constantly learning, constantly moving, constantly changing.Even COVID has gone through its own evolution. It has shifted and adapted alongside us, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.
Just when we feel like we are returning to routine… suddenly, COVID transforms again and forces us to adjust once more. In a way, COVID has become like the “new child in the neighborhood,” or the newborn added to the family. And perhaps it is time we agree that the routine we knew before COVID may never return exactly as it was. Instead, we need to adapt to the structure of this “new family.”Evolution is, at its core, a process of growth and change. The real question is: how do we receive change? How do we communicate to our children about the changes they must face? Think for a moment about a time when plans changed how did your child react? Did you recognize yourself in their ability to adapt, or in their struggle to do so?During this period, when we spend so much time at home, try practicing a new skill. Take on an activity that pushes you outside of your comfort zone, one that requires effort, and invite your family to join you. Ask your children to teach you something they are good at. Ask them for help — showing them that asking for help is not weakness but a path to success. Let your children take the lead. Show them how you face your own challenges, and ask together what they need when they struggle.
Remember: evolution is what happens in nature all the time. It is something positive bringing growth, development, and transformation.
